On America's North coast
To experience a piece of small town America, laid back fun you must visit Geneva On The Lake (GOTL) on the shores of Lake Erie in Northeastern Ohio. It is a throwback to the 1950's with an arcade filled strip, adventure park, oldest miniature golf in the United States in continuous play, nice restaurants and wineries and the quintessential Eddie's Grill. Eddie's is a landmark in GOTL serving burgers footlong hotdogs, fries and a Dairy Queen to finish off the meal.
Families can rent cottages for made for hanging out or stay in nearby hotels. For accommodations see http://www.visitgenevaonthelake.com. My favorite place to stay is at a friend's house just a few miles down the road in the Saybrook area of Ashtabula. It is one of the oldest house in the area, the original part of the house built in 1845. Right on the Lake's edge, breathtaking sunsets with beach access to the lake; it has 6 bedrooms with 2.5 bathrooms, a sun room, full kitchen and laundry. It easily accommodates 13 people so for family reunions it is perfect. I have had a few family reunions there. Contact me if you are interested in renting this fabulous vacation spot, click on the email link below. There is a fabulous bike trail nearby, an old rail to trail so super easy incline very easy for beginners and children to safely ride.
Just a few miles south of the Lake you will find several top class wineries. http://genevaohio.com/wp-content/uploads/Vines-Wines-Wine-Trail.pdf While you are in the area you will have to visit the longest and the shortest covered bridges in the United States!
